Under the guidance of the Propaganda Department of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, co-sponsored by the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism (Shanghai Municipal Administration of Cultural Heritage), the People's Government of Xuhui District, the People's Government of Pudong New Area, the People's Government of Jing'an District, and the People's Government of Huangpu District, the 6th Shanghai International Art Fair Week officially kicked off on November 7, 2024 at Hall A of West Bund Art Center, and will last until November 11, 2024.


With the theme of "Global Art Field, Art Shanghai", this year's trading week is based on a global perspective, highlighting Shanghai's characteristics, driving consumption upgrading through the in-depth integration of culture and tourism, and boosting the steady development of the economy. During the trading week, more than 100 art activities will be presented, covering the highlights of the five major art fairs, cultural relics and artworks auctions, the 2024 Autumn Magic City Art Season, and the Shanghai Dialogue Summit Forum, gathering the world's top art resources, mobilizing industry leading institutions, building an international, professional and diversified brand pattern of Shanghai International Art Trade Week, accelerating the formation of a 100-billion-level art industry scale, and laying a solid foundation for Shanghai to build an internationally important art trading center.

This year's Shanghai International Art Fair brings together high-quality art resources from around the world to present five key fairs: the 11th West Bund Art & Design, the 12th ART021 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair, the 10th Shanghai Youth Art Fair, the 3rd Yiyi Art & Design Online Fair, and the 2nd Shanghai International Art Book Fair. Nearly 10,000 works of art are on display. Through the combination of professional art collection and affordable art consumption, it attracts global collectors, art buyers and institutional representatives, demonstrating Shanghai's important position in the international art market and further strengthening its global competitiveness.

Among them, the 11th West Bund Art & Design Fair has reached the largest scale in the history, and the overall scope has expanded to the south, forming a new pattern of linkage of six venues, covering more than 170 galleries and institutions from 24 countries and regions, and all the top ten galleries in the world have joined; The 12th ART021 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair brings together 131 galleries and special projects from 43 cities, with 24 galleries participating for the first time. In addition, 4 art exhibitions and 1 sports trend collection exhibition will be organized to enrich the breadth and depth of the content of the trading week; The 10th Shanghai Youth Art Fair brought more than 150 young artists' works and launched the Curator Program for the first time. The 2nd Shanghai International Art Book Fair will feature five exhibition areas, including domestic and foreign publications, global museums, and professional colleges, presenting a diverse art experience to the audience.

In 2024, the cultural relics and artworks zone of the 7th CIIE will be further expanded, with an exhibition area of 2,500 square meters, with world-renowned institutions such as Phillips and Vmuse continuing to appear, and new exhibitors such as GlocalArtProjectSA and Hong Kong Oriental Auction, bringing a number of world-class treasures. This year's trading week gathers and displays international high-quality art resources, continues to amplify the spillover effect, and injects new momentum into Shanghai's acceleration of its transformation into a global art trading center.

  Art and fashion, business, tourism cross-border linkage

Under the guidance of the multi-dimensional integration of "art and fashion, commerce and tourism", this year's Shanghai International Art Fair Week has added energy to art-empowered consumption and opened up new scenes and new formats of cultural tourism consumption. Represented by "Art West Bund", a series of activities such as "Shanghai Trend & Art Fair FISE Extreme Sports World Tour Shanghai Station" and "West Bund ARTWEEK" integrate elements such as trendy art, extreme sports, digital lighting, urban music and interactive experience to create a vibrant and attractive city carnival, fully stimulating public participation enthusiasm and regional consumption potential. The "Art Bund 2024 Bund International Arts Festival" in the "Art Bund" area covers 34 art venues and 57 exhibition activities in the Bund area, bringing together terrace art, fashion art, digital art, celebrity IP exhibitions, etc. The "Art Suhe 2024" in the "Art Suhe" area will link the history and humanities of Jing'an Suhe, and jointly create cultural and tourism events with departments and social resources such as North Station streets, art institutions, and neighborhood business districts in multiple forms such as art exhibitions, drama flash mobs, outdoor concerts, and corporate salons, triggering online communication, creating Internet celebrity city landmarks, introducing activity traffic, and empowering regional economic development. "Art Pudong" will bring a variety of interactive experiences such as art exhibitions, outdoor music choruses, and parent-child drama weeks in business districts such as Qiantan and Lujiazui, showing an inclusive and modern artistic atmosphere, and enhancing regional cultural attractiveness and consumption vitality.

This year's trade week also selected the "2024 Art Business District", including West Bund Dream Center, West Bund Central, Qiantan 31, EkA Tianwu, BFC Bund Financial Center, Rock Bundyuan, Shanghai Suhewan Vientiane World, and Shanghai Henglong Plaza, which have contributed to promoting the integration of culture and tourism and consumption growth. The in-depth exploration of cross-border integration of art has not only brought a more attractive urban life experience to Shanghai, but also brought new vitality and creativity to the consumption model, driving the high-quality development of Shanghai's cultural tourism market.

This year's trading week focuses on the cutting-edge exploration of digital art, and through the holding of the "2024 Shanghai International Digital Music Week", the global game music composition competition, cross-border music performances, digital music summit forum and music technology exhibition will be presented in Hengfu Music District, so as to stimulate the innovation potential of digital music in an all-round way. AI-driven "Voices of the Art Bund", AR-powered "Art Bund 2024 Bund International Art Festival", "AR Art Map", "AR Art Installation" and other interactive projects have injected immersive experiences into traditional cultural spaces and created a new form of digital artistic expression. The group exhibition project launched by the "Suhe Art Season" and the world premiere of the prologue of the "First Sight of Civilization" Three-Body Contemporary Art Exhibition reshape the form and connotation of artistic experience through the innovative interpretation of literature and technology. In order to optimize the business environment and cultural services, the Suhebei Station Art Alliance launched the "North Station Art Appreciation Passport", which was distributed to the public for free appointments to visit 15 cultural and art institutions in the streets of Suhewan North Station in Jing'an District, so as to promote the open sharing of cultural resources.
